Molecular & Cellular Proteomics is a monthly journal that seeks to foster the development and applications of proteomics in basic and translational research. MCP publishes biological or clinical discoveries underpinned by proteomic observations, and also emphasizes technological advances and innovative computational methods.

This diversity is largely unexplored at the level of single-cell proteomes because of the limitations of quantitative single-cell protein analysis. Spatial proteomics improves our understanding of protein function by revealing the subcellular localizations of proteins and their movement between compartments. This Review discusses spatial Browse Sigma-Aldrich's Proteomics to find products in Mass Spectrometry, Microbiome Standards, Native Protein Sample Preparation, Post-Translational Modification, Protein Chromatography, Protein Electrophoresis, Protein Interaction, Protein Quantitation, Protein Structural Analysis, Recombinant Protein Expression and Analysis Background Macrophages are innate immune cells with diverse functional and molecular phenotypes. This diversity is largely unexplored at the level of single-cell proteomes because of the limitations of quantitative single-cell protein analysis. The aim of proteomics is not only to identify all the proteins in a cell but also to create a complete three-dimensional (3-D) map of the cell indicating where proteins are located. These ambitious goals will certainly require the involvement of a large number of different disciplines such as molecular biology, biochemistry, and bioinformatics. Proteomics is a fast and powerful discipline aimed at the study of the whole proteome or the sum of all proteins from an organism, tissue, cell or biofluid, or a subfraction thereof, resulting in an information-rich landscape of expressed proteins and their modulations under specific conditions.

Post-translational modifications define the functional and structural plasticity of proteins in archaea, prokaryotes and eukaryotes. Combining state-of-the-art technologies in molecular cell
